Civil Engineers I


APS Consulting, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks Civil Engineers I. Provide civil engineering design services for design of various public infrastructure projects including roads, sidewalls, ADA accessible ramps, storm sewers, etc. Provide Construction Engineering services for roadway and other civil engineering projects. Prepare and review quantity and cost estimates for various projects. Work with design software like Microstation and AutoCAD for preparation of CAD drawings and other civil engineering design calculation software. Research, analyze, compile, and display data for official zoning and planning publications related to layout for sites, subdivisions, and municipal projects. Compile and assimilate reports and records for documentation purposes, accountability, and future reference such as impact studies, population data, and analysis, maps, and diagrams. Use of survey equipment, levels, measuring wheels etc. for quantity calculations. Prepare site plans for compliance with local and state criteria, specific project documentation such as addresses, certified surveys, setbacks, easements, alley ways, and right of ways. Serve as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on project issues. Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.

Must possess a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Must also possess a minimum of one year of experience with (i) design software including Microstation or AutoCAD for preparation of CAD drawings; (ii) performing engineering tasks including Site Grading, utility design including water, wastewater, and storm; (iii provide construction engineering services; and (vii) managing projects and client communication. 20% domestic travel required.
